There's something inherently comfortable about re-reading Alistair MacLean's novels. The action and dialogue is corny & chauvinistic and incredibly convenient. But it's fun and sometimes you just need a comfy book to read that doesn't challenge and which happily suspends all reality for a day or /5(3). In this one the action takes place in South America and involves drug lords, spies and loads of other detective-story types. The action is mostly fast-paced, quite intriguing, with a few interesting plot twists.
